Your Baby’s First Heirloom: Fine Art Newborn Albums
Featuring baby Andrew’s newborn portraits
Getting to photograph all three of the Carter boys over the years has been such a joy. There’s something really special about watching a family grow—and getting to be part of those milestone moments as they welcome a new baby into their arms. This time, I had the honor of capturing sweet Andrew’s newborn session, and I love that his family chose to create a beautiful heirloom album.
I’ve said it before, but I truly love working with small business owners. Kasey Carter, Andrew’s dad, owns Roseland Insurance in Jena, Louisiana, and he brings so much care to the families he serves. It’s always inspiring to photograph people who are not only raising great kids but also pouring into their communities through the work they do.
Why I Believe in Heirloom Albums
Digital galleries are wonderful, but a handcrafted album is something entirely different. It invites you to slow down, flip through memories, and relive the story of your baby’s first days in a way no screen ever could. Each album is thoughtfully designed to last for generations, and tell a visual story that your children will one day share with theirs.
I offer three sizes to fit your style and space: 8×8, 10×10, or 12×12. Every album starts with 20 thick, layflat pages printed on archival paper and bound in your choice of linen or leather. You can personalize it with your baby’s name, birth date, or a custom title embossed on the cover.
Andrew’s Newborn Session
Andrew’s session was full of love and warmth. We captured him curled up in soft outfits, snuggled into his mama’s arms, and surrounded by his proud big brothers. The tones were earthy and timeless, browns, greens, and creams that worked beautifully in both portraits and album design.
Some of my favorite images included:
A peaceful portrait of Andrew asleep on a green backdrop
Big brothers snuggled in close as they cradled him
A sweet family shot that radiated connection and joy
These moments now live inside a fine art album they can flip through anytime, and it’s already become a treasured part of their home.
